Preparing for your Notary Public Appointment
Be prepared to sign your document(s) with your Notary:
- All signer(s) must be present at the time of the appointment.
- Be sure to bring all of the documents that need to be notarized with you to the appointment. If you need us to print the documents for you, then please let us know ahead of time and upload the document(s) when you book your appointment.
- All signer(s) must bring a valid, government issued photo ID that has not expired on the appointment for the notary services. Acceptable Identification are State-issued driver's license, State-issued identification card, U.S. Passports, U.S. military ID and/or Tribal identification cards that are not expired.
- All signer(s) must be of sound mind, alert and mentally competent.
Reasons why your documents will not be notarized:
- The signer(s) is not physically present at the time of appointment.
- The signer(s) cannot produce an acceptable identification.
- The document(s) is incomplete or blank.
- The signer(s) appears to be intoxicated, sedated, and/or disoriented.
- The notary public knows and/or suspects that the transaction is illegal, false, or deceptive.
- The notary public believes that the signer(s) is being coerced and/or does not understand the consequences of signing the document(s).
- The signer does not speak English and there is no one available to translate the document(s) into a language that the signer can understand.
- The signer and/or witnesses do not agree to signing the document(s).
